Ensuring biosafety and providing information on issues related to the circulation of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) requires cooperation among government authorities, the scientific community, international organizations, and civil society.
The Kyrgyz Republic is developing cooperation in this field at both national and international levels.

Cooperation with research institutes and higher education institutions in the field of biosafety and risk assessment.
Non-governmental organizations and civil society
Information and awareness-raising activities, participation in public dialogue on biosafety issues.
On 31 March, an interim meeting of the Interagency Working Group of the FAO/GEF Project “Implementation of the National Biosafety Mechanism in the Kyrgyz Republic in accordance with the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety” was held in the conference hall of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic (MNRETS).
