This section presents official studies, reports, and analytical materials prepared by government authorities of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as materials developed within the framework of national and international projects in the field of biosafety and the circulation of genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
The published materials reflect scientific, methodological, and legal approaches applied in assessing potential risks of GMOs to human health and the environment, as well as in the development and implementation of regulatory measures.
The section is intended to inform a broad audience, including citizens, business representatives, the scientific community, and non-governmental organizations.

The Biosafety Law sets the general framework for regulating activities related to biological agents and products of modern biotechnology. The Law on Organic Production establishes a complete ban on the use of GMOs and products produced from/with the use of GMOs in organic agriculture.
